My Favorite Pair of Sneakers in my Collection that are NOT Jordan's...

Image
As much as I’m a die-hard Jordan fan, the  Nike Dunk Low 'University Blue'  holds a special place in my sneaker collection—and my heart. The crisp white base paired with bold university blue overlays is more than just a striking colorway; it’s a nod to my favorite college basketball team, UNC. As a lifelong Tar Heels fan, this sneaker feels like the perfect way to rep my team in style. Even though I haven’t worn them yet, I had to cop them as soon as I saw them. Just owning them feels like I’ve added a piece of UNC history to my rotation. While my Jordans will always be my go-to, these Dunks are unique because they connect my passion for sneakers with my love for UNC basketball—a combination that makes them more than just another pair of shoes. The Dunk has always represented more than just performance; it’s about making a statement. Whether it was the early days in college basketball or its rise in sneaker culture, the Dunk has had a lasting impact. With the University Blue ed...

Sneaker Care Tips

Taking care of sneakers is essential, especially when they form a prized collection that you don’t wear often. Although I love my sneaker collection, I find myself wearing my Crocs the most for everyday activities. This helps me preserve my favorite pairs in near-mint condition. To keep sneakers looking as fresh as possible, the right cleaning techniques make a big difference. Using a soft brush or an old toothbrush along with a mild cleaning solution is perfect for cleaning the soles and the upper part without causing damage. Water damage can be a sneaker’s worst enemy, so I make sure to apply a waterproof spray designed for either fabric or leather, depending on the shoe. If sneakers get wet, letting them air-dry naturally—away from direct heat—is key to avoiding material warping or color fading. Storage is another crucial part of sneaker care. I always keep mine in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight to prevent any discoloration. To avoid creases, using shoe trees  or stuffing...

Collecting Tips

Building a Jordan collection involves more than just acquiring the latest releases—it requires strategy, research, and community engagement. Starting with iconic models like the Air Jordan 1 or 11 can give your collection a strong foundation, while focusing on versatile colorways ensures they’re easy to style. Budgeting is essential, so using resale platforms such as StockX or GOAT to understand market prices can be helpful. Engaging in raffles and being prepared for sneaker drops can boost your chances of securing coveted pairs at retail prices. Finally, maintaining your collection’s value involves proper storage, using  shoe trees , and keeping shoes away from direct sunlight to prevent damage and discoloration.  Authenticating your purchases is crucial in the sneaker world, where counterfeit Jordans are common. Utilizing legit-checking services like CheckCheck  or researching the specific details that distinguish real pairs from fakes, such as stitching, logo placement...

My Favorite Pair of Sneakers in my Collection as of now

Image
My favorite pair of sneakers as of right now that I have collected are the Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Bred Reimagined' .  I love them because they bring back the look of the original Air Jordan 4 “Bred” from 1989, which is such an iconic style. The black upper with red and gray accents makes them stand out, and they go well with so many outfits. The “Reimagined” version keeps the classic look but adds a modern touch that makes them feel fresh and special. These sneakers were released on Saturday, February 17, 2024, this drop is strategically planned around Michael Jordan’s birthday and the NBA All-Star Weekend. These connections heighten the release’s significance, celebrating MJ’s legacy and his profound influence on basketball and sneaker culture.  Some Jordans can be a hit or a miss when it comes to comfort, but these sneakers stands out me for being both comfortable and stylish. Even though I’ve only worn them once so far, I could tell they’re designed with both looks and w...

History of Jordan's

Jordan sneakers started in 1984 when Nike teamed up with young NBA player  Michael Jordan . At that time, Nike was mainly known for running shoes, but they wanted to break into basketball. They saw Jordan as the perfect player to represent their new line. In 1985, Nike released the first Air Jordan, a shoe with bold colors and a unique design. The NBA  actually fined Jordan for wearing one of the original colors, which only made the shoes more popular. This “Banned” story helped make Air Jordans a huge hit. Every year, Nike came out with a new Jordan shoe, each one building on the last with fresh styles and new ideas. The shoes were designed for basketball, but people started wearing them off the court as a fashion statement. Jordan’s success on the court also boosted the brand’s image. Today, Jordan sneakers are still loved by fans, and many people collect older or limited-edition pairs. They have become a big part of both sports and fashion, making Jordan sneakers a lasting ...

Introduction

Hey, I’m Georgianna Waters, and yes, I’m a shoe addict. I’m 22 years old now, and if there’s one thing I can’t get enough of, it’s Jordans. I collect all different types of shoes but Jordan's are my favorite. Some people collect stamps or books; I collect sneakers, and it all started back in middle school. This passion for shoes has been a long, exciting road, filled with release dates, raffles, and the hunt for those perfect pairs.  Growing up, I always looked up to my older brother,  Jordan . He was the one who introduced me to the world of Jordans. Every time he got a new pair, I had to get them too.We became each other’s sneaker buddies, and eventually, that led us to our first camping experience for a new release. There we were, super early in the morning, waiting outside the store with a group of other sneaker heads, all for the love of that fresh-out-of-the-box Jordan feeling. There’s just something special about being one of the first to slip on a new pair! Now that I’...
